Pettus Independent School District is located in both Bee and Karnes Counties.  PISD is comprised of approximately 186 square miles and encompasses the communities of Pettus, Tuleta, Choate, Normanna, Mineral and Tulsita.  Campuses are located in the community of Pettus, TX.  The campuses are maintained to reflect a pastoral setting with majestic Live Oak trees on gently rolling terrain.  The high school campus buildings are constructed of locally quarried Tuleta rock which adds to the tranquil setting.  The school is a focal point for social activity in the community.

The District schools, serving pre-kindergarten through grade twelve, are fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency.  PISD students are offered a quality academic education as well as a complete extracurricular program.  Pettus schools offer students a variety of programs spanning a wide range of students needs and interests.  Programs and activities include full-day pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, gifted and talented progam, recommended/distinguished achievement high school graduation programs, National Honor Society, agriculture, computer technology, Title I school-wide services, ESL instruction, as well as athletics and band programs.

The Pettus "small school" environment enhances student academic success at Pettus schools.  Pettus Elementary has a pupil/teacher ration of 11:1; Pettus Secondary has a pupil/teacher ratio of 11:1.
