A Message from the Superintendent
Starting Monday, October 19, 2015, early voting will begin for the November 3rd general election. Pettus ISD will have a referendum on the ballot which asks voters in Pettus ISD to "Purchase Attendance Credits from the state with Local Tax Revenues."
Pettus ISD is a "Chapter 41" school district, which means we are a property wealthy school district, and in Texas School Finance, it means we are subject to "recapture." You may be more familiar with the term, "Robin Hood," where property wealthy districts give money back to the State to help equalize the funding for property poor districts.
I am holding a series of community meetings to help answer questions regarding the election, and I hope to see you there. Also, here are some frequently asked questions in case you can not make one of the meetings.
Theresa Keel, Superintendent of Schools
Pettus ISD Voters approved the District's Bond Referendum on May 9, 2015. Thank you to all of the people who dedicated their time, energy, and resources to make this possible! And, thank you to the Pettus Community for your trust and for your generousity!
